  • Comment: Of course Return to Castle Wolfenstein was better, but the black market feature was great. Cruising through the different parts of the town and no linear levels was different and took awhile to get used to. The easy difficulty settings are too easy! <$20 is the appropriate price for this game and I still enjoy firing it up once in awhile. Less than what I had hoped for and feel bad for those who bought at $50.

  • Summary: It Doesn't Work Without Patch
  • Comment: Initially I wrote a review that explained my failed experience to run this game. I later found a patch that fixed the problem. Out of the box, this game will not run. It takes you to a web site called Securom and asks you to send them a .sr0 file (which is not necessary after patching the game). There is no reference to Securom on the box or manual, but it appears to be the check that makes sure you have the disk in your drive.

    There is a patch on the Wolfenstein web site that updates the game to version 1.11 that fixes the problem. I had to find patch 1.1 from a 3rd party site in order to be able to install 1.11 however. My recommendation would be to make sure the patches are available before buying (and hopefully you won't experience the frustration I went though). My overall rating would be higher if the game worked out of the box (and didn't waste hours of my time before I got it working) because it has been fun after I got it running.

  • Comment: Thoroughly enjoyed this game. Has lots of the typical features for a FPS (weapons upgrades, snipe, melee), and a few extra goodies to boot (supernatural powers). I do have to say, the final boss is rather difficult and I haven't beaten him yet. Most bosses in this game have a weak point (spot) that you need to exploit in order to beat them. I still haven't found his.

  • Comment: I'm still playing this and expect to be awhile. It's well done and an excellent step forward in the series. Lot's of good new stuff like the "veil" and improved graphics generally. Kudos' to the team's who produced it.
